As members of our Catholic sports teams, all Highlight (Frassati and Badano) team parents and players must agree to the following code of conduct while attending practices, games, or any team function:

  • Zero tolerance for disrespecting referees/umpires, teammates, coaches, or opponents. No arguing calls by parents, players, or coaches. (Coaches may respectfully ask for clarification at an appropriate time.) This includes body language by coaches and players. No shrugs, eye rolls, etc. directed at officials or opponents.

  • No showboating. Celebrate appropriately with teammates, but bringing attention to yourself (chest-thumping, look-at-me antics) is not permitted. Players will be benched for such behavior.

  • No device use (phones, tablets, mobile gaming systems, etc.) is allowed by players. Phones may be kept in a bag, but players must ask the coach for permission to make a call or send a text apart from other players.

  • No profane/foul/obscene/disrespectful talk/language (including around the topic of marriage and human sexuality) or use of the Lord’s name in vain.

  • No intentional public counter witness to the Catholic faith.

DRESS/hair CODE

  • No clothing with offensive content (according to the teachings of the Catholic Church).

  • No spandex/leggings unless covered by looser fitting shorts.

  • No earrings for boys. (Certain sport leagues may also ban jewelry for girls.)

  • Girls’ hair: No extreme cuts/shaves. Must be a natural color.

  • Boys’ hair: Clean cut (not below the ears, eyes, or collar). No extreme cuts/shaves (e.g., drastic long to short instead of blended). Must be a natural color.
