Mission
The mission of Badano Sports is to form strong female disciples of Jesus Christ. Through sports, we seek to foster authentic feminine spirituality, servant leadership, vocation discernment, and joyful Catholic witness.
History
Badano Sports was launched in August 2018 as a division of Highlight Catholic Ministries, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
Our Patron
Chiara "Luce" Badano was another young Italian athlete who lived life to the fullest with a passion for Jesus and sports. Born in 1971, Chiara enjoyed playing tennis, skiing, and swimming. While playing tennis at the age of 16, she experienced severe pain in her shoulder and was later diagnosed with bone cancer. Her response? "It's for you, Jesus. If you want it, I want it too." After seeking treatment in Turin, the hometown of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, Chiara faced death by planning her funeral as if it were a wedding. She died in 1990 and was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.
Camps/Clinics
We are offer a wide variety of homeschool and after-school clinics throughout the school year, as well as summer camps. Tennis, soccer, basketball, etc. To Jesus through sports!
Badano Sparks
We assemble cross country, soccer, volleyball, and basketball teams of Catholic girls to compete for the greater glory of God within the Catholic Schools Athletic League (CSAL) and other leagues.
Group/Private Lessons
We offer group or private training in virtue through soccer, basketball, tennis, and more.
